The Troubadour
Opened in 1957, The Troubadour in Hollywood has been at the heart of music history, nurturing the careers of countless artists. From hosting the early performances of iconic acts like Elton John and James Taylor to being the birthplace of new music movements, The Troubadour has always been a place for raw talent and artistry. It’s a venue where emerging artists share the stage with legends, all while creating an atmosphere charged with energy and discovery.
Modern Americana Design
One thing that traveling artists get to see more than most of us is the visual diversity of our country. From the old industrial towns to the bright lights of the big city—it’s a beautiful mix of old and new. The design language of the Touring GMT pulls inspiration from these elements and blends them in a way that feels modern, while still paying homage to the past. The strong typography and bold hands nod to Americana sign painting, while the vibrant colors tie in to the youthful energy of today’s modern cities. It’s a blend that is meant to be both surprising and comfortable at the same time.
Connecting You Back to Home
The Touring GMT features this dual time zone functionality that works a little bit differently than most GMT watches on the market. Instead of the usual 24 hour scale with midnight located at the top, the Touring GMT uses an AM/PM scale that is visually split between daylight and nighttime halves, with midnight at the bottom. This allows the wearer to quickly understand if it’s daytime or nighttime back home, giving a more visual connection to loved ones than the more complex military time can.
Featuring the Miyota 9075
The wonderful Miyota 9075 is a movement that lines up perfectly with the concept of the Touring GMT. It’s a “True GMT” (often referred to as a Traveler’s GMT or Flyer’s GMT), which simply means that it’s easier for the traveler to change the local time. The main hour hand independently adjusts for quick time changes, while the outer GMT hand stays synchronized to home. The 24 jewel 9075 boasts a lovely high beat rate of 28,800 vph / 4 Hz, which shows in the buttery smooth seconds hand. A power reserve of 42 hours is perfectt for those on the go.
Each movement is regulated in-house to within +/- 10 seconds per day.
When the Lights Go Down
The Touring GMT is equipped with an absurd amount of BGW9 Swiss Super LumiNova to make sure that the watch is legible at all times. The dial is printed with multiple layers of colored lume, while the interior of the hour, minute and GMT hands are filled.
Built for the Road
The Touring GMT may not have the look of a rugged watch, but we’ve made sure that it can easily stand the pressures of the road. 10 ATM of water resistance ensures that you don’t need to be afraid of getting wet. Sapphire crystal protects the front and rear of the watch. Finally, both the case and bracelet of the Touring GMT are treated with a special hardening coating that will protect the watch from most everyday scratches.
A Strap for Every Occasion
The road is an unpredictable place. One night you may be playing a back-street dive bar, while the next you are playing an outdoor festival in the rain. Versatility is key. The Touring GMT comes with two straps: a beautifully soft Italian leather option with a colorful illustrated lining, and a lightweight perlon strap that can be fully submerged in water without issue. There is also a stunning bracelet option that utilizes solid quick release end links for fast strap changes, and also on-the-fly micro-adjustments for quick sizing. It tapers down from 20mm to 16mm for an extremely comfortable experience on the wrist.
The Bracelet
Don’t forget to add on a bracelet to your order. These stunning bracelets are custom made specifically for the Touring GMT watch, and give the watch an entirely new feel. Some features:
- 316L surgical grade steel
- The same scratch resistant hardening coating found on the GMT watch
- Quick release end links for tool-free strap changes
- On-the-fly, tool-free micro-adjustment mechanism
- Tapers from 20mm to 16mm
Add on the bracelet during the checkout process!
